Welcome to Solatio. These were the shoes of the seventies. Remembered with great affection by those who wore them throughout a memorable decade when a generation sought loud and exciting fashion as a strong statement of their identity. Solatio brand is back for those seeking shoes with real personality and presence.
Style 102 Crossovers
The Solatio 102 CROSSOVER shoe was relaunched in 2012 and has proved to be a solid favorite for the soul generation. Beautifully manufactured in Italy this much loved style is faithful to the original 1974 product, oozing pure nostalgia. Check out the reviews to see what they say about these dance floor winners.
Guaranteed not to disappoint.
Style 107 Boxtops
The Solatio 107 BOXTOP style is a strong statement shoe renowned for the basket weave apron and bold toe shape. This is an authentic version of the style worn in 1971 by the Suedeheads with its aggressive but smart appearance. Frequently worn with the obligatory red socks, this style was a must have. Now it's time to roll back the years.
Guaranteed not to disappoint.
Style 309 Tassels
The Ladies Solatio TASSEL Loafer is a re-run of the seventies favourite loved by trendy girls. Like the 107 men’s Boxtops, they sport a rolled front seam with interlace detailing which is very striking. Soles are total leather with an extended rand. The upper and linings are in top quality Italian leathers. Another nostalgic style to take you back to those exciting days of our youth this style will look great with slacks or skirts.
the shoe of the seventies
Those familiar with the Solatio brand will remember just how popular these styles were during the seventies. Classic Men's Mod shoes had moved on to more extrovert trends as smart skinheads and suedeheads adapted these styles to wear with their Levis and Sta-prest.
The Boxtop shoe, also remembered as the Norwegian shoe / Basketweave shoe, was a must-have suedehead shoe along with the red socks and crombie coat. Worn to the backbeat of Ska, Reggae, Motown and Soul music, the Solatio Boxtops were a big deal in those formative years. The 102 Crossover shoe was to become the Northern Soul shoe to be wearing on the dance floor casinos of the Midlands and North. With their low profile and wider shape they co-ordinated with the wide leg trousers which were ubiquitous at the time. Throughout the first half of the seventies decade Solatio shoes dominated and influenced the mens' shoe scene in the UK and their personality is etched in a generations memory. The re-emergence of the brand is a sentimental project undertaken with pleasure by Deluxe Footwear.
We are touched by the enthusiastic response to the shoes by our followers and we intend to continue to provide great product and service for all of you seeking style quality and nostalgia. Be prepared for an emotional reunion.
